Aid and Mission
As a church we support various charities and causes. As Christians we believe it is our responsility to help those in need and respond to them as Jesus would have us do.

Colchester Soup Run
Together with many other churches in the borough we take part in this activity. The aim is to provide those who are homeless or lonely with some nourishment every day. We make and take sandwiches with us and serve these in the town centre together with soup, biscuits, cakes and hot drinks.
Children's Society
Traditionally we have collected for the Children's Society during Advent each year. www.childrenssociety.org.uk
Christian Aid
Every May, we join with churches nationwide to collect door to door for Christian Aid. www.christian-aid.org.uk
Causeway Prospects
Prospects is a Christian voluntary organisation which values and supports people with learning disabilities; the Causeway branch of this charity helps to bring the Good News of God's love to people previously overlooked by traditional forms of evangelism and ministry. There is now a network of Causeway Prospects groups across Britain. Each month they provide fellowship, friendship and ministry to over 1,500 people with learning disabilities. One such group meets regularly at Christ Church - we worship, study the Bible, talk, drink tea and coffee and pray. Our prayer time follows a time of sharing all that has being going on in our lives since we last met and there are always many requests for prayer. The Bible study is simplified to make it understandable and relevant. We pray that every person in the group feels accepted and that their contribution is welcomed and valued.
Traidcraft
Traidcraft is the UK's leading fair trade organisation, fighting poverty through trade.
Established in 1979 as a Christian response to poverty, we combine a trading company and a development charity.
Our vision is a world freed from the scandal of poverty, where trade is just, and people and communities can flourish.
Traidcraft pioneers the development of fair trade by:
- building lasting relationships with small-scale producers in developing countries
- supporting people to trade out of poverty
- working to bring about trade justice
- being open and transparent about our practices.
We hold a monthly traidcraft stall. Items can either be bought from this stall or ordered through the Traidcraft catalogue. www.traidcraft.co.uk
